The Sundeck Rooftop
The Sundeck is a rooftop bar perched on the hillside above Kata Noi Beach in southern Phuket. The bar sits on top of The Shore at Katathani resort, giving it a wide open view over the bay and the Andaman Sea. On a clear day, you can see all the way down the coast.
The Sundeck is small and keeps things simple. There are a few tables and lounge seats arranged around a narrow terrace. The focus is on the view and the drinks, not on food or parties. The cocktail list is short but well made, and there are a few light snacks available.
Late afternoon is the best time to go. The light changes quickly as the sun drops, and the colours over the bay can be exceptional. It is a quiet spot compared to the bigger beach clubs on the island, and that is part of its appeal.
