The Garage OG Phuket

Live Music Bar in Karon Beach

The Garage OG is a popular live music bar on Patak Road in Karon Beach. I stopped by on a Friday night, and the place was already filling up by 8 pm, well before the band kicked off around 9.30 pm. The bar has a raw industrial look with shipping containers, old oil drums used as tables, and a vintage VW Beetle parked inside.

The Live Band

The resident band plays rock covers, and they’re actually good. When I was there, they played everything from classic rock to more recent hits. The stage is small, and on the side of the bar, so you’re close to the musicians no matter where you sit. Tables near the front fill up first, so come before 9 pm if you want a good spot.

The Space

The Garage is bigger than it looks from the outside. There’s an open-air section facing the street where the band plays, plus an indoor area with more seating and big screens showing football. The place fits a lot of people, but it can still get packed on busy nights. They’ve got fans everywhere, which helps with the heat.

One corner has that old VW Beetle with bean bags next to it. Good for photos, not great for watching the band.
