Little Tiger is a small and hidden restaurant with a superb view, perched on a hillside of Merlin Beach near Patong Beach. Even if you find this remote beach, you might have a hard time spotting Little Tiger, which is why the place is still quiet and peaceful.

Once you found the beach, you might think that it looks a lot like a private beach for the guests of the Marriott Phuket Merlin Beach, but it is not. Not so much because private beaches are illegal in Thailand, but because the small road that leads to it is easily missed.

How to Get There

From Patong Beach drive south, in the direction of the well-known Paradise Beach. With Google map it’s even easier, aim at Phuket Marriott Resort Merlin Beach. If you drive a car, park it before the resort and take that tiny dirt path on the left, precisely before the Marriott. If you drive a bike, you can drive this path almost to the beach. At the end of the road, it’s a bit messy, but you will see the beach right away. On the left is a beach massage terrace followed by a staircase that will take you to Little Tiger.

Little Tiger is a modest restaurant that started very small and discreet, but with such a beautiful view at any time of the day, it became most popular with the guests of the hotels which at the time was the Merlin Beach Resort. Little Tiger is now better known, and the food is a bit more expensive, but the views are worth the price, and it’s cheaper than the hotel restaurant. They probably knew they were the only option near the hotel. If you find the prices a little too high, you can get a nice drink anyway.

What to Order

You can expect all the classic Thai dishes. People, of course, will go with fried rice and Pad Thai but also Tom Ka (that delicious coconut soup with chicken), fried fish, fried spring rolls and a lot more.
