Enjoy breakfast or sunset dinner on the beach!
Lillo Island is one of those places we enjoy going back to for a slow breakfast on Kamala Beach. It’s right on the sand in the central part of the beach, among a row of restaurants. The tables are literally on the beach, under big trees and yellow umbrellas. This is a rare chance for you to eat with your feet in the sand.

We first came here for breakfast, and it’s become our favourite morning spot in Kamala. They open at 8 am, and early morning is the best time. The beach is quiet, the air is still cool, and you’re watching people set up their sunbeds while you drink your coffee. They do both Thai and American breakfast sets. Nothing fancy, just proper eggs, toast, fresh juice, and good coffee.
The restaurant is attached to a small 12-room resort called Lillo Island Resort, and it’s family-run. You can tell. The same staff have been here for years, and guests mention them by name in reviews. That kind of consistency is rare in Phuket.
What to Eat
Breakfast is when we like coming here most. The morning crowd is thin, service is relaxed, and you’re looking out at that bright blue water while you eat. They do Thai and American breakfast sets. Nothing complicated, just eggs done the way you want them, toast with butter and jam, fresh fruit juice, and decent coffee. It’s the kind of slow breakfast where you end up staying longer than planned because the view is too good to leave.

Seafood is the main attraction here. They display fresh catches on ice at the front of the restaurant. Phuket lobster, prawns, crabs, and whole fish. You can pick what you want, and they’ll grill it for you.
For Thai food, the Tom Yum Goong is around 200 Bah,t and it’s properly spicy. If you don’t want it hot, tell them clearly because they cook it authentically by default. The crab dishes, green curry, and pad Thai all get consistently good feedback. Most Thai mains run between 150 and 250 Baht, which is reasonable for beachfront.

They also do Western food. Pizzas, pasta, burgers. It’s not why we come here, but families with picky kids appreciate having options. The menu is big enough that everyone finds something.
Drinks

They have a proper bar with draft Singha on tap, cocktails, and wine. The bar area has red stools and stays busy into the evening. Sunset drinks here are a Kamala Beach tradition for many visitors. Drink prices aren’t published online, but they’re in line with other beachfront restaurants in the area. Not low beach-shack prices, but not hotel-bar expensive either.
How It Compares
Kamala’s central beach has a whole row of restaurants. Smile Bar next door is more of a party spot with DJs and fire shows. Bella Vista does Italian food at higher prices. Deng’s is similar to Lillo but quieter. The smaller Thai shacks like Coconut Garden and Nanork are cheaper but more basic.
Lillo Island hits a middle ground. Better food quality than the party bars, more affordable than the upscale places, and busier than the quiet Thai restaurants. If you want one reliable all-rounder on Kamala Beach for breakfast, seafood dinner, and sunset drinks, this is probably it.
