Thai Restaurant in Phuket Town
Krua Talad Yai is the main all-day restaurant at the Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town, located on the third floor with both indoor seating and a small terrace overlooking the Surin Circle clock tower. The name translates roughly as “big market kitchen,” and the restaurant is designed around an open-kitchen marketplace concept where you can see the food being prepared at live cooking stations.

The breakfast buffet is the highlight. The hotel sits just 600 metres from the old streets of Phuket Town, and a proper breakfast here is the best way to fuel up before a morning exploring the Sino-Portuguese shophouses, temples and street art. The spread covers both Western and Asian options, with a barista coffee station, fresh pastries, a salad bar, dim sum, noodle soups cooked to order, and a good selection of Southern Thai dishes like Gaeng Som Pla and Moo Hong that you rarely find at hotel breakfast buffets elsewhere on the island.

Beyond breakfast, Krua Talad Yai serves lunch and dinner with a mix of a la carte and themed buffets. The evening buffets rotate through different cuisines on different nights, and the weekend Market Place Buffet on Friday and Saturday features a wider spread with fresh seafood. There is also a Sunday brunch with a generous selection.

The space itself is large but does not feel impersonal. The interior is bright and modern, fitting with the overall renovation of the building, which was converted from the old Metropole Hotel. Service is attentive and the team is welcoming, which makes a difference when you are starting your day.
