The Tent Phuket

A Fun Breakfast Spot in Phuket Old Town

The Tent is a small breakfast cafe in Phuket Old Town, not far from the famous Thalang Road, where the Sunday Night Market is held. We stopped by recently and found a place that’s part Instagram backdrop, part actual breakfast spot. The camping theme works better than you’d expect, and the cafe is often busy.

The main attraction is the row of decorative teepee tents along one wall. You can sit inside them on floor cushions if you take your shoes off, but we tried, and it’s not very comfortable if you are not used to sitting this way 😀

Most people just photograph them and sit at regular tables. The concrete floors, turquoise ceiling beams, and chevron wall patterns give it that cafe-for-photos look that’s everywhere now.

The Food

The menu runs heavy on Western breakfast. Bagels, croissants, eggs Benedict, waffles, burgers, sandwiches. We tried the avocado toast and a smoked salmon bagel. Both were fresh and came out quickly. The coffee was decent, nothing special, but perfectly fine for Old Town prices. Most dishes run 139-189 Baht. Coffee starts at 75 Baht for an Americano. You’re looking at 200-400 Baht per person for breakfast with a drink.

Worth Knowing

The Tent Phuket attract mostly tourists. We didn’t see many locals eating here, which isn’t surprising given the location. Staff were friendly, and the service was quick, even when busy.

The cafe is small. Maybe 20 seats total between the tent area, back room, and a couple of tables near the counter. It gets busy mid-morning when people finish their Old Town walking tours. Air conditioning and free wifi make it a reasonable spot to cool down.
