Located on the hills of Patong at Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong – MGallery, Sizzle Rooftop is a culinary gem and, as a standalone dining experience, is popular with both residents and visitors to Phuket. This stunning rooftop venue offers an immersive dining journey beginning with a viewing of live Phuket lobsters and locally sourced seafood. Led by renowned Chef Alvaro De La Puerta, his globally-inspired menu features fresh seafood and exquisite steaks, including Australian wagyu and the Japanese A5 wagyu striploin, known for its unmatched flavour and tenderness, prepared on a traditional brick charcoal grill.
The restaurant’s architecture ensures an unobstructed gastronomic experience regardless of weather, with a large covered area and two semi-private salas for special celebrations. Every table is strategically placed to maximise the stunning 180-degree views of the forested landscape.
At the rooftop bar of Sizzle Rooftop, guests can indulge in artful mixology, featuring sundowner smoky cocktails, exotic tiki drinks, and innovative beverages, all served in an atmosphere designed for relaxation and enjoyment. Distinguished by its sophisticated design that melds contemporary elegance with tropical aesthetics, Sizzle Rooftop Bar. Steak. Seafood features terracotta-hued cushions on comfortable lounge-style seating, sleek light wood flooring, and a roof with a modern slatted design and retractable cover that bathes the space in warm, ambient light or protects from the elements. Glass paneling allows diners to peer into the live kitchen, while showcasing tanks with live lobsters, seafood, and oysters, adding a dynamic and interactive element to the dining experience.
The whole rooftop is open-sided or al fresco, offering panoramic views of the rainforest-covered mountains and Andaman Sea. The bar area is vibrant, adorned with high stools to enjoy the sunset views and a stylish counter, complemented by twin Thai salas for group celebrations.
Set on a large dark wood floor with comfortable rattan sofas, the restaurant and bar are spacious, very relaxing and welcoming, perfect after a day at the beach. The rooftop is large and allows for good table distribution, so you are not too close to your neighbours. If you are smart enough to book in advance, you should really get one of the two little Salas, those little traditional Thai houses without walls that give an extra romantic touch and even more privacy. An open kitchen occupies an entire side of the terrace, focusing on grills, barbecued meats, steaks and fresh seafood.

Chef Alvaro de la Puerta is the new Chef de Cuisine. With over 13 years of international culinary experience, Chef Alvaro brings a deep passion for flame-grilled excellence. Trained in Michelin-starred kitchens and mentored by some of the industry’s finest across Spain, the UK, the Cayman Islands, and Thailand, his culinary style fuses bold Mediterranean flavours with refined technique. He brings his Spanish flair to classic dry-aged Wagyu steaks, fresh seafood, and fire-inspired creations rooted in Spanish, French, and Italian traditions.

At Sizzle Rooftop, the culinary offerings curated by Chef Alvaro De La Puerta highlight a balance of the finest seafood and premium cuts of steak. Guests are first drawn to the live tanks, showcasing Phuket lobsters and sustainably caught Andaman fish. The menu begins with sophisticated appetisers such as elevated tartares and refined shellfish creations, before moving to signature dishes like perfectly grilled Black Angus steaks, Iberico Presa, and indulgent lobster platters. Each dish is complemented by unique sauces that enhance the natural flavours, while a curated selection of fine wines and crafted cocktails ensures flawless pairings. To conclude, desserts range from our theatrical tableside tiramisu to other artfully plated sweet creations—bringing every dining experience to a memorable close.
Hamachi Tiradito
Delicate slices of fresh Hamachi draped in a zesty aji Amarillo sauce, balanced with the subtle heat of piparras and finished with a crisp shallot crunch. A refreshing and elegant dish.

Black Angus Tomahawk MB 5 (1.4 kg)
A show-stopping cut, rich with marbling and flavour. The Black Angus tomahawk is flame-grilled to perfection. Succulent and robust, serving 2-3 guests with an indulgent smoky char.
Iberico Croquetas
Golden and crisp on the outside, with a luscious béchamel centre, harmonised with 24-month aged Jamón Iberico. Served with a touch of aioli for a rich and authentic bite that’s both comforting and elegant.
Spanish Octopus
Tender grilled octopus paired with crisp parmentier potatoes and smoky chorizo, brought to life with a piquillo pepper mayonnaise. A vibrant balance of textures and flavours that captures the essence of Spanish coastal cuisine.
So remember to call early and ask for those little salas, or at least a table on the side of the terrace where the view is the best. Those tables are few, and of course, they are going first. Apparently, this is also a good place to propose!
