A Restaurant, Art Gallery and Kids Club in One Place
Project Artisan is located on a quiet road between Bang Tao and Layan, away from the beach crowds. I visited late afternoon when the place was still empty. The garden was glowing in that golden hour light, and I had time to walk around and explore before dinner.

The concept is simple but works well. It’s a restaurant surrounded by art. Local Thai artists painted the murals you see everywhere, from the entrance sign to the walls inside and throughout the garden. A yellow Vespa marked “Manzon” is parked near the bar. Old wooden doors and antique furniture are scattered around. Nothing matches, and that’s the point.

The owners describe it as a place that captures “old Siam and modern Thailand.” I’d say they got it right. It feels like someone’s private garden filled with things they collected over the years.

The Setting
The restaurant spreads across a large garden with tall trees and stepping stone paths. Small candles in paper bags line the walkways at night. I found a main covered dining area with tables overlooking the garden, plus smaller seating spots under the trees. There’s even a stage area for live music.

Inside, there’s a proper bar with bright blue stools and a phoenix mural behind it. The ceiling has an unusual orange lamp made of overlapping clay tiles. I also spotted an air-conditioned room with dark blue walls and black and white photography, good for a private dinner or escaping the heat.
The whole place feels designed for people who want to take advantage of Phuket’s tropical climate. Most seating is outdoors or semi-covered, with fans keeping things cool.

The Food
Project Artisan serves Thai and European dishes. I tried the charcuterie board, which came with sliced cured meats, dark rye bread, pickles, olives, grapes, and mustard. The presentation was nice. Burgers run from 430 to 570 Baht for the Angus beef version. They have vegetarian and vegan options too. Coffee starts at 100 Baht for a small latte. Add 8.5% service charge to your bill.

They also have a small bakery if you just want to grab bread and go.
Mini Me Kids Club

This is what makes Project Artisan stand out for families. The Mini Me Kids Club opened in September 2025 and runs daily from 11 am to 11 pm, the same hours as the restaurant. It’s free for families dining here.

Kids aged 3 to 10 can play with wooden toys, join creative workshops, or watch cartoons while parents enjoy dinner without interruption. The staff speak English. It’s a proper kids club, not just a corner with some toys. The space uses natural materials and has safe play areas.
