Wachirabenchathat Park (Rod Fai Park)

Big Green Escape In Chatuchak

Wachirabenchathat Park, or Rod Fai Park, is the bigger, greener neighbour right next to Chatuchak Park in Bangkok, and we always recommend it if you want a proper park day. We went over there after Chatuchak Park, and you can really feel the difference straight away. This one is way more spacious, more trees, more quiet corners, and it feels like you actually escaped the city, even though you are still in the Chatuchak area.

What we love doing here is just walking or renting a bike and cruising around. The park is known for cycling, with long, looping paths that are perfect for an easy ride. Bike rentals are available near the entrance if you don’t bring your own. You will see lots of locals biking, jogging, and doing weekend exercise, but because the park is so big, it never feels packed in the same way as smaller parks.

There are also a bunch of little spots that make the park more interesting than just lawns and trees. We passed ponds and open grassy areas, and if you are into nature, there is a butterfly garden and insectarium inside that is a nice, quick stop. It is the kind of place where you can keep wandering and keep finding new corners to sit, take photos, or just chill under the shade.

Getting here is easy, too. You can come from BTS Mo Chit or MRT Chatuchak Park and walk in, or do a short taxi or bike ride over. We would say come early morning or late afternoon because midday gets hot, and the softer light makes the whole park look extra pretty. If you want a relaxed, bigger park experience in Bangkok, Rod Fai Park is the one we would pick every time.
