Phuket Town and Patong Beach are the two busiest city centres in Phuket, each with their own distinct things to see and do for travellers. Phuket Town is home to the island province’s government offices and is the cultural heart of Phuket.
Phuket is home to more than three dozen beaches, with two of its most sought-after beaches – Kata Beach and Bangtao Beach – set along its west coast. Both Kata and Bangtao have the classic holiday beach offerings of soft sands, sunbeds, and sunset views, but each has distinct features that should be considered when deciding on which beach in Phuket is best for you.
Thai Gallery and Coffee Bar is a small open-air café and restaurant set on the hillside near the Big Buddha in Chalong. Its entry has an artistic touch, with beautiful carved wooden panels lining the front roof and columns and several paintings hanging in the small gallery just off to the side.
