A Rooftop Dining Experience in Bangtao
7th Floor Restaurant is on the rooftop of Sole Mio Boutique Hotel in Bangtao Beach, on the seventh floor with open views of the Andaman Sea. It opened in April 2024 and has a menu that mixes Mediterranean cooking, Russian dishes, and Thai flavours. Not a combination you see often in Phuket. The sunset views from up here are good, and the happy hour makes it an easy choice for an early evening drink.
The Setting

The rooftop has an open-air layout with floor-to-ceiling glass on one side. It is casual but well put together. There is a central bar in the middle where you can sit and watch the sun go down over the sea. Warm lighting comes on after dark and there is background music throughout. Live music runs every weekend from 7 pm to 9 pm.

What to Order

The menu has a bit of everything. On the Mediterranean side, the beef carpaccio with anchovies and parmigiano is a good starter, and the white snapper with tomatoes, capers and olives is one of the main draws. The duck massaman curry brings a Thai angle to the menu. The most unusual dish is the beef stroganoff, which comes with sour cream, mashed potato and wild mushroom. It is one of those dishes you do not expect to find on a rooftop in Bangtao, and that alone makes it worth trying. For dessert, the honey cake is a Russian classic made with sour cream and honey.
Cocktails and Happy Hour

The bar makes its own cocktails. Two worth trying are the BB Spices, which mixes vodka with ginger syrup and elderflower, and the Bocce Ball, made with orange-infused dark rum and Grand Marnier. Happy hour runs from 6 pm to 8 pm with 50% off classic cocktails, local beer and wine by the glass. If you are coming for the sunset, that is the time to arrive.
