A Relaxing Vegan Restaurant in Karon Beach
Soul Vegan Cafe is the first fully plant-based restaurant in Karon Beach, and we’ve been back several times since it opened. The food is genuinely good, and even if you’re not vegan, it’s worth a stop. The focus here is on health and taste rather than strict veganism, which is probably why it appeals to a wider crowd.

The restaurant sits on Karon Road, about 200 metres from the beach. Look for the Union Jack tuk-tuk parked at the entrance. You can’t miss it!
The Setting

The space has two sections. Inside, there’s a semi-covered dining room with patterned blue tiles on the floor, wooden furniture, and pink neon lights near the bar. It feels casual and relaxed. Outside, white wicker sofas sit under umbrellas in a shaded garden. Big trees keep it cool even at midday.
The Food

The menu mixes Thai and Western dishes. Thai options include Massaman curry, Khao Soi, Pad Thai, and tom yum. Western choices run from pizza and lasagne to nachos and breakfast pancakes.
The smoothie bowls are popular for breakfast. Ours came loaded with dragon fruit, kiwi, banana, mango, granola, coconut flakes, and chia seeds. Colourful and filling. We also tried the mango salad. It came piled with cashews, cherry tomatoes, and fresh herbs. Simple but properly done.
Most dishes cost around 180 to 250 Baht. For a full meal, expect to spend around 500 to 700 Baht per person. It’s not cheap by local standards, but the portions are decent and the quality shows.
The desserts get mentioned a lot in reviews. The Nutella pie and mango coconut cake keep coming up. The ice cream is also made on-site.
Beyond the Food

Soul started as a restaurant but grew into something bigger. The owner wanted to create a space around wellbeing, not just food.
They now host wellness events throughout the week. Sunday mornings have yoga at 8 am. Wednesdays feature sound healing sessions. They also organise morning runs, surf lessons, and cooking classes. The schedule changes, so check their social media before turning up.
There’s a small corner selling clothing, local products, and home goods. Nothing huge, but worth a browse while waiting for your food.

Good to Know
Soul is open daily from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm. The restaurant welcomes kids and has a kids’ menu. Parking works for both motorbikes and cars. Staff speak good English and can explain gluten-free options, which cover most dishes except pizza.
If you’re staying in Karon Beach, this is an easy walk after the beach. Good food, reasonable prices, and a nice break from the usual tourist restaurants on the main strip.
