Help the local community with food, clothes and donations
Phuket has been the dream destination of millions of travellers who enjoyed amazing beaches and landscapes, delicious food, and most of all, the legendary Thai hospitality. Just like everywhere in the world, the Coronavirus COVID-19 is taking a massive toll on an island that relies entirely on tourism. If you visited Phuket and made friends with locals, now is the time to help, even with a small gesture.
Who are we?
This page is built by a group of local volunteers, both Thai and long time expatriates, who want to reach out and make it easy for people around the world to make a small gesture. We understand that most of you are outside the country and drop off food is not possible.
Still, you can buy a little something from Villa Market online supermarket, and it will be distributed. We are still trying to get in touch with other supermarkets. Nevertheless, we started as fast as possible as help is already needed.
Please help Phuket people during this difficult time by donating
A lot of people in Phuket are out of work and therefore have no funds to buy food or items desperately needed. Please help them during this difficult time.
- Food: Rice, noodles, eggs, cans of sardines, water, milk for babies, or anything that is spare in your cupboard.
- Clothes or shoes for children or adults
- Any walking aids – e.g walking stick, crutches, wheelchair.
How it works:
All of the food and other donations will be collected on a daily basis from the places listed in the table below and delivered to each local council for distribution.
At the moment there are 3 ways you can help:
1. Drop off goods
Drop off food and clothes at any of the many points listed in the table below. To make it easy to locate and park, here are 3 Villa Markets with donation boxes placed outside in the morning:
- Villa Market in Boat Lagoon (The box/trolly will be on the left side of Villa as you walk in)
- Villa Boat Avenue (The Box/trolly will be beside the ATM of Villa)
- Villa Chalong (The box/trolly for Chalong will be between the two entrances to Villa)
PLEASE maintain a social distance while depositing your items you drop your items. Thank you.
2. Order online and we will distribute it
You can order directly online from Villa Market stating in the comments box “Donation”.
In case you don’t know where to start, below is a list of suggested items you can purchase online very easily. We will improve this list asap to make it easier, but time is short to help. You can buy as many items of each as you want, it will help a lot of people. When ordering, make sure you write ‘Donation’ in the comment field and select ‘Pickup’. If you wish to donate your food to a specific part of the Island, please add it to the comment field too.
3. Donations in cash

What happens next?
The food and other donations will be delivered to the local Council of each sub-district and distributed daily or twice daily to those in need.
