Chuan Chim Restaurant
A small local restaurant on Montri Road in Phuket Town, where most jewellery shops are. Chuan Chim is quite large, simple and spotlessly clean. The food is cheap and excellent. We loved the fried basil with minced pork or chicken and the seafood salad.
HEH Restaurant
HEH is a restaurant on the outskirts of Phuket Town run by a young team and passionate and creative Thai Chef. The restaurant is not too big, well-designed with high windows, unpretentious, and welcoming. There is even a tree growing right in the middle of it.
Krua Kao Kuk
Krua Kao Kuk is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Phuket Town, praised for its simple and delicious southern Thai cuisine. Founded by a Peranakan family in 1995, it’s a favourite among locals for fresh seafood dishes, vegetables with ginger, and classic Thai comfort food like omelettes and pork belly.
Royd Restaurant
Royd is an upmarket restaurant found on Dibuk Road in Phuket Town, a short distance from the popular Thalang Road where the Sunday Walking Street Market is held every week.
Bucha Gallery & Restaurant
Bucha Gallery & Restaurant is a superb venue in Chalong where guests can enjoy Thai antiques and authentic southern cuisine, run by the talented Chef Wina, who learned home cooking from her mother Kae Ying as she ran a shop on the market in Pak-Phanang Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Salaloy Seafood Restaurant in Phuket is located on Rawai Beach, in the very south of Phuket. Divided into two parts on each side of the busy beachfront road, the kitchen and main dining room are on one side and a sidewalk by the ocean and under the tall trees.

O Cha Rot Phuket – Noodle Soup in Phuket Town
O Cha Rot is an unassuming local restaurant, but it serves one of the best noodle soups in Phuket Town, so good that it made it to the Michelin Guide in Phuket. The restaurant has no decoration whatsoever, white wall, stainless cooking station and stainless tables.

Jongjit Kitchen in Kathu is proof that a restaurant doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive to be excellent, and even receive a Michelin Plate for fresh ingredients, carefully prepared. The restaurant is local and modest, the prices are low and the food served is excellent and truly local, making it a good culinary experience while in Phuket.

Kin-Kub-Ei Restaurant is a hidden gem serving delicious southern dishes cooked by Khun Tubtim with her family recipes and served in a beautiful garden near the main road to Bangtao Beach.

Royal Oshak is one of the fanciest and most upmarket Thai restaurants in Bangkok. Originally from San Francisco, where they run five restaurants, Royal Osha serves Thai food with a slight twist, created by talented Thai chefs.
Methavalai Sorndaeng Restaurant
Methavalai Sorndaeng is an old-fashioned Thai restaurant frozen in time, just next to the Democracy Monument, not far from Khao San. There are so many Thai restaurants in Bangkok finding something original for a special occasion will be difficult.
