Michelin Restaurant in Ploenchit

Elements Restaurant is on the 25th floor of The Okura Prestige Bangkok. We went for dinner on a quiet weekday evening, curious to see how this Michelin-starred restaurant balances French and Japanese influences. The view over the city was already worth the visit—especially at sunset—but it was the calm, open kitchen and the attention to detail that stood out.

The restaurant takes inspiration from the two-star Ciel Bleu in Amsterdam, but the team here clearly has its own identity. The atmosphere was relaxed—not stiff or overly formal—and the staff made us feel comfortable from the start.

We chose the six-course Chikyu menu. Every dish came with a short explanation, but it never felt rehearsed. The Hokkaido scallop was lightly seared, with a clean ponzu dressing that kept the seafood centre stage. Later, we had a small serving of smoked eel with caviar—surprisingly gentle in flavour, with no heavy sauces.

The Akita wagyu was cooked medium-rare and served with reduced jus and seasonal vegetables that weren’t just there for decoration. Even the bread was memorable—served warm with butter that had just a hint of miso.
