The Four Districts of Asiatique
Asiatique is divided into four themed districts, each in a different section of the old port warehouses. Understanding the layout helps you plan your evening efficiently.
Chareonkrung District is the entertainment zone. This is where you’ll find the Calypso Cabaret show, live performances, and more than 1,000 night-market-style shops selling handicrafts, home decor, and souvenirs. The shopping here is more interesting than typical tourist fare, with a good selection of unusual and locally-designed items alongside the standard T-shirts and elephant pants.

Town Square District has restaurants, sports bars, and a small event space. Thousands of tiny boutiques are neatly lined up under a massive factory-style roof. This is the most covered section, which matters during rain.
Factory District is the trendy section. Over 500 fashion boutiques in a refurbished 100-year-old sawmill building, plus dining and coffee shops. The architecture here feels more polished than the market areas.

Waterfront District runs along Bangkok’s longest riverside promenade (300 metres). This is the premium section with riverside restaurants, beer gardens, the Sirimahannop tall ship restaurant, and the large event space used for concerts, New Year celebrations, and seasonal festivals. The views of the Chao Phraya River and the Bangkok skyline from here are the best in the complex.

What to See and Do at Asiatique
Asiatique Sky (Ferris Wheel)

Asiatique Sky (Ferris Wheel): Bangkok’s tallest Ferris wheel at 60 metres (roughly 20 storeys). The ride takes about 15-20 minutes and gives you panoramic views of the river and the city skyline on both sides. It’s at its best after dark when the city lights up. Tickets are 400 Baht per adult.
Sirimahannop Tall Ship

Sirimahannop Tall Ship: A replica of the historic “Thoon Kramom” vessel, permanently anchored at the waterfront. It serves dinner and drinks every evening with a unique dining setting on the deck of a three-masted sailing ship.
Jurassic World: The Experience: Opened in August 2025, this 6,000 sqm immersive walk-through attraction is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, themed environments from the films, and the Fossil and Flame restaurant (the first Jurassic World restaurant outside a theme park). Tickets start at 769 Baht for adults on weekdays, 989 Baht for peak times. Allow 60-90 minutes. Book online to guarantee your time slot.
Calypso Cabaret: Bangkok’s well-known ladyboy cabaret show has been running at Asiatique for years. Glamorous costumes, choreographed dance numbers, and lip-sync performances. Shows run nightly. Tickets are available at the venue or through booking agents.
Joe Louis Thai Puppet Theatre: Traditional Thai puppet performances that have been part of Asiatique’s entertainment lineup. Worth checking the schedule if you’re interested in Thai performing arts.

How to Get to Asiatique
Free shuttle boat (recommended): Take the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin station, then exit at Exit 3. The free shuttle boat departs every 25-30 minutes from 4 pm to 11:30 pm. The ride takes about 15 minutes along the Chao Phraya River and is an experience in itself, with views of riverside temples and the Bangkok skyline. This is the fastest and most reliable way to get there.
Free shuttle van: Also from Saphan Taksin station (Exit 3). Runs from 11 am to 7 pm daily, every 25-30 minutes. Useful if you want to arrive before the boats start running.
Taxi or Grab: Possible but traffic on Charoen Krung Road can be terrible, especially on weekends. The ferry is almost always faster. If you take a taxi back late at night after the shuttle stops, expect to negotiate the fare or use the Grab app.
Parking: Available for over 1,500 cars if you’re driving.
Where to Eat at Asiatique
Asiatique has over 40 restaurants ranging from street food stalls to premium riverside dining. The Waterfront District has the best settings with river views. The indoor food courts in Warehouse 1 and 2 bring together vendors from across Bangkok and different Thai regions. A Big C retail mall inside the complex also has a food section with budget options.
Sirimahannop Restaurant on a sailing boat

The Sirimahannop Tall Ship, anchored at Asiatique the Riverfront, was built to honour the memory of the renowned “Thoon Kramom” vessel. This ship, weighing 475 tons with three masts, was the largest in Siam and facilitated trade between the Kingdom of Siam and Western nations, ushering in prosperity. The Sirimahannop is a replica of this iconic ship, permanently anchored in front of the night market and serving dinner and drinks every day of the week. Read more

Insider Tips
Asiatique is best visited as an evening activity. It officially opens at 4 pm, but most shops and restaurants don’t really get going until 5:30 or 6 pm. Plan to arrive around 6 pm and stay until 9 or 10 pm for the full experience.
Take the shuttle boat, not a taxi. The boat ride is free, scenic, and avoids the traffic that makes Charoen Krung Road miserable on weekends. From BTS Saphan Taksin to Asiatique is about 15 minutes by boat.
If you want to ride the Ferris wheel, go early in your visit. The queue gets longer as the evening goes on. Right after sunset is the best time for photos from the top.
Asiatique is busiest on weekends. Weekday evenings are noticeably quieter. If you’re there midweek, you’ll have more space to browse and shorter queues for everything.
For Jurassic World: The Experience, book tickets online in advance. Walk-up tickets sell out on busy days, especially weekends and school holidays. Weekday afternoons before 4 pm are cheaper (769 vs 989 Baht).
The Waterfront District has the best views and the premium restaurants. If you only have time for one section, start here and work your way inland.
Late at night, the shuttle boat stops running around 11:30 pm. If you stay past that, you’ll need a taxi or Grab. The tuk-tuk drivers in the car park charge inflated fares to people who missed the last boat.
Asiatique Through the Years
The site where Asiatique stands was originally the port of the East Asiatic Company, a Denmark-based trading firm founded in 1897. The company operated port facilities on the Chao Phraya River, and the oldest surviving warehouse dates from 1907. The port handled teak, rice, and international trade during the reign of King Rama V (Chulalongkorn). It was Thailand’s first pier for overseas trade.
The port ceased operations in 1947, and the facilities gradually fell into disuse. For decades, the old warehouses sat empty on the riverbank.
In May 2011, real estate company TCC Land announced plans to renovate the site. Asiatique opened on 27 April 2012 and quickly filled the gap left by the Suan Lum Night Bazaar, which had closed in 2010. The complex was designed as a hybrid: part night market, part shopping mall, part entertainment venue, all with a historical theme from the Rama V era.
Over the years, Asiatique expanded its entertainment offerings. The Calypso Cabaret moved in, the Ferris wheel became an icon of the Bangkok riverside, and themed events like the Disney100 Village celebration (2022) drew large crowds. In August 2025, Jurassic World: The Experience opened across 6,000 sqm, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. A Big C retail mall, new food hall concepts, and the Fossil and Flame themed restaurant added to the mix.
Today, Asiatique is one of Bangkok’s most visited tourist attractions, drawing millions of visitors annually. It won the Retail Asia Awards 2025 Mall of the Year for Thailand and continues to add new experiences to keep visitors coming back.
