16 Best Rooftop Bars in Sukhumvit

Explore the Rooftops of Sukhumvit

Sukhumvit has more rooftop bars than any other part of Bangkok. That makes sense. Most visitors stay here, the BTS runs right through it, and there’s a hotel on nearly every corner. Finding a good rooftop is easy. Finding a great one takes a bit more work. We keep coming back to Octave at the Marriott Sukhumvit. Three levels, 360-degree views, and it’s right above BTS Thong Lo. The 49th floor isn’t the highest in Bangkok, but seeing the city spread out in every direction never gets old. Tichuca is more of a scene, multiple levels with different areas to explore and a crowd that’s there to be seen.

Above Eleven has been around for years and still draws people who want loud music and a party. For something quieter, ABar at the Marriott Marquis has one of the best gin selections in the city. It’s on the 38th floor and feels more grown-up than the party rooftops further down the road. The main thing about Sukhumvit rooftops is convenience. You can have dinner at street level, take the lift up for drinks, and be back at your hotel in ten minutes. No taxis, no ferries, no planning required.

Octave Rooftop Lounge

Octave Rooftop Bar Bangkok at Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit

49th Floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Octave is one of the rooftop bars I often recommend to friends staying in the Thonglor area. It’s perched on the 45th to 49th floors of the Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, and the view from the top level is completely 360°, with no walls or glass panels to block the skyline. You really feel like you’re floating above Bangkok. What I like about Octave is that it’s a little more relaxed than some of the bigger-name rooftops. There’s great music, a stylish crowd, and good cocktails — but the vibe is casual enough that you don’t have to overdress.

Cooling Tower at Carlton Hotel

Cooling Towers Rooftop Bar at Carlton Hotel Bangkok

34th floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Cooling Tower Rooftop Bar is a great spot to keep in mind if you’re around Asok or Phrom Phong. It sits on the 34th floor of the Carlton Hotel, just above Sukhumvit Road, with a clear view of the city from two sides — the Siam–Ploenchit skyline on one end and long views over the Rama IV area on the other. The bar itself is cosy and modern, with very high retractable ceilings that give it an open-air feel even when covered. The layout is smart, and the vibe is relaxed. What caught my eye was the way the BTS Skytrain line runs straight past the base of the hotel; it’s great for photos, especially if you manage to catch the train as it glides into the frame.

ABAR at Marriott Marquis

Abar Rooftop at Marriott Marquis Bangkok

38th Floor – Location: Sukhumvit
ABar Rooftop is one of the largest rooftop bars I’ve visited in Bangkok, and it definitely leaves an impression. Sitting high on the 38th floor of the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, this place is all about space, skyline views, and cocktails — especially gin. The rooftop is enormous, with a clever layout that makes it feel both open and private at the same time. There are cosy two-person tables tucked along the edges and a central area filled with comfortable sofas, separated by hedges for a bit of privacy. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also access to another wing of the hotel with even more space, sometimes used for private events.

34th Floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Sanctuary Bangkok is a new rooftop bar that opened in March 2025, perched on the 34th floor of the InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit. It’s a rather intimate rooftop space compared to many others in the city, and while it doesn’t offer the sweeping panoramic views that some visitors might expect from a rooftop bar, it has its own unique charm.

  • Hotel: Intercontinental Bangkok Sukhumvit

Pastel Rooftop

Sanctuary Rooftop Bar at Intercontinental Bangkok on Sukhumvit

22nd Floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Pastel Rooftop is a charming addition to Bangkok’s rooftop scene. Perched on the 22nd floor of the Aira Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11, it’s a mix of Mediterranean restaurant and rooftop bar, and the setting is every bit as inviting as the food. It’s not a fully open rooftop — only one side is exposed — but the space is wide, breezy, and well designed. The light decor, umbrellas, and soft colours give it a real holiday feel. There are four rows of tables, with the edge seats naturally being the most popular, so booking ahead is a smart move if you want the best view of the skyline.
  • Location: Sukhumvit
  • Hotel: Aira Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 11
  • Address: Aira Hotel, 14 Soi Sukhumvit 11, Khwaeng Khlong Toei Nuea, Khet Watthana, Bangkok 10110

TRIBE Sky Beach Club

TRIBE Sky Beach Club on Bangkok Sukhumvit

5th Floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Tribe Sky Beach Club is one of the most unexpected rooftop bars in Bangkok. Located on the top floor of the new EmSphere shopping mall on Sukhumvit Road, it feels like someone lifted a beach club straight from the islands and dropped it in the middle of the city. The space is huge, bright white, and made for fun. It’s not your usual laid-back rooftop – Tribe is all about the photo moments and the party vibe. It starts off chilled in the late afternoon and slowly picks up energy as the sun sets.
  • Location: Sukhumvit
  • Address: 628 Sukhumvit Rd, Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110

Above Eleven

Above Eleven Rooftop Bar on Sukhumvit 11

33rd and 34th Floors – Location: Sukhumvit
Above Eleven has been around for a while and is still one of the best-known rooftops in Sukhumvit Soi 11. I’ve been a few times over the years, and it always has a good energy — lively but not chaotic, and with a view that stretches across the city from the 33rd floor of Fraser Suites. The design is playful, with metal frames shaped like trees, giving the rooftop a bit of a park-in-the-sky feeling. It’s not a huge space, but there’s enough room to find a quiet corner if you arrive early. Later in the evening, it fills up fast — especially on weekends — so I usually try to be there before sunset to grab a good spot.

25th floor – Location: Sukhumvit
RedSquare is a small rooftop bar I’ve visited a couple of times, located on the 25th floor of Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4, right in the middle of the Nana neighbourhood. It’s not very high, but the view over the city reflected in the large infinity swimming pool is surprisingly good, especially in the evening when the skyline lights up.

LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar

34th floor – Location: Sukhumvit
LUZ is one of the most vibrant and easy-going rooftop bars I’ve been to in recent months. It’s located on the 34th floor of the INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit, and the view over the city is wide and open, especially in the early evening when the lights begin to flicker on. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. On weekdays, there’s a DJ playing easy-going tracks, and on weekends, live bands take over.

Spectrum Lounge and Bar at Hyatt Regency

Spectrum Rooftop Bar at Hyatt Regency Bangkok
29th and 30th floors – Location: Sukhumvit
Spectrum is one of the more polished rooftops in Sukhumvit, and I’ve always liked how it manages to feel a bit more private than some of the flashier bars nearby. Located on the 29th and 30th floors of the Hyatt Regency, it’s tucked away just a few minutes’ walk from Nana BTS, but once you’re up there, the city noise disappears.
  • Location: Sukhumvit
  • Hotel: Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit

Accessible via BTS Asoke station, Belga is perfect for food lovers seeking something unique.

Cielo Sky Bar

cielo rooftop bar

46th floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Cielo Sky Bar is one of those rooftops I recommend when someone wants a great view without the high prices or the crowds. It’s on the 46th floor of the Sky Walk Condominium near Phra Khanong BTS, and even though it’s not in the usual tourist zone, the view over Bangkok’s skyline is wide and impressive.
  • Location: Sukhumvit

Mojjo Rooftop Bar

Mojito Rooftop Bar

34th floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Mojjo is a smaller rooftop bar I’ve visited a couple of times, tucked on top of the Compass SkyView Hotel, just behind Emporium Mall and close to Phrom Phong BTS. The location is convenient if you’re shopping or staying in the area, and while it’s not as high as some rooftops, the view over Sukhumvit is still great, especially at sunset.

Sky on 20 at Novotel

Sky on 20 Rooftop Bar at Novotel Bangkok

26th floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Sky on 20 is a laid-back rooftop bar on the 26th floor of the Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20. Despite the name, it’s not on the 20th floor — that’s the street number — and the rooftop is a bit tucked away. Getting there is slightly unusual: you take the lift up, then face a modest fire exit door with a small sign. It feels like the wrong way until you push the door, climb a flight of stairs… and find yourself in a surprisingly spacious and well-designed rooftop.
  • Location: Sukhumvit
  • Hotel: Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20

Brewski Rooftop Bar

Brewski Rooftop Bar at Radisson Blu Bangkok

30th floor – Location: Sukhumvit
Brewski is a rooftop I’ve visited a few times when I’m in the Asoke area and in the mood for something casual. It’s on the 30th floor of the Radisson Blu Plaza, and while the view is good, the real draw here is the atmosphere — laid-back, friendly, and focused on craft beer rather than cocktails. The space is split into two levels, with the main bar on the lower floor and a small upper deck for better views. It’s not impressive, but it’s open-air, comfortable, and usually has a mix of locals, expats, and visitors looking for a relaxed evening above the city.
  • Location: Sukhumvit
  • Hotel: Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok
  • Address: 489 Sukhumvit Rd (Sukhumvit Soi 27)

FAQs about Rooftops in Sukhumvit

A. Octave at the Marriott Sukhumvit is our top pick. It spans three levels on the 45th to 49th floors with full 360-degree views. For a more social scene, Tichuca draws a younger crowd who come for photos and the multi-level layout.
A. Octave offers the best panoramic view with no walls or glass blocking the skyline. Cielo Sky Bar on the 46th floor is another strong option, and it’s less crowded with lower prices.
A. Most upscale rooftops require smart casual. Octave, Above Eleven, and Pastel don’t allow shorts, sandals, or sleeveless shirts for men. More casual spots like Brewski, RedSquare, and Cielo have no dress code.
A. Several rooftops cluster around Nana and Soi 11: Pastel, Above Eleven, RedSquare, Spectrum at the Hyatt Regency, and Belga at the Sofitel. All are within a 5-minute walk from the station.

A. Pastel has a romantic Mediterranean feel with good food. ABar at the Marriott Marquis is quieter and more intimate. Spectrum at the Hyatt feels upscale without being crowded.
A. Arrive between 5 pm and 6 pm to catch sunset and secure a good seat. Popular spots like Octave and Tichuca fill up quickly after 7 pm, especially on weekends. Many bars offer happy hour deals in the early evening.
