A Long-Running Thai Brand in Bangkok
LukKaiThong Royal Thai Cuisine at One Bangkok offers a refined Thai dining experience in a stylish setting. The restaurant features a beautifully designed interior with golden arches and a quiet atmosphere. Guests can sit indoors or outside on a terrace overlooking Rama IV Road, though it may be hot during the day. Dishes are well prepared and nicely presented. We had smoked duck breast, stir-fried morning glory, and a light herbal soup with mushrooms and crispy fish skin. Service is excellent—fast and polite. Prices are high, but the quality and attention to detail make it a good choice in central Bangkok for a special lunch or dinner.
LukKaiThong Royal Thai Cuisine is part of the Luk Kai Thong Royal Cooking group, a long-established name in Thailand. The brand started in Bangkok back in 1990, founded by Khun Arunee Montriwat. She created a unique style that blends traditional Thai flavours with Chinese influences, inspired by recipes from the royal kitchen. Over the years, the restaurant expanded to many locations across the country, including EmQuartier, IconSiam, and Kaithong Restaurant at Central Festival Phuket, where we also had a great meal.
Location and Style
The Bangkok branch is easy to find. It’s on the 4th floor of One Bangkok, right by the escalator. The design is very elegant, with high ceilings, golden metal arches, and soft lighting. It feels calm but still upscale. There’s also a terrace with small tables overlooking Rama IV Road. It looks nice, but we found it too warm during the day, so we chose to sit inside.
Our Lunch
We ordered a few dishes to share. The smoked duck breast came with salad, sausages, and steamed dumplings. The duck was juicy and had a light smoky flavour. The stir-fried morning glory was cooked with garlic and chillies — simple but tasty. One dish that stood out was the clear herbal soup, served with mushrooms and crispy fish skin. It looked light but had a lot of depth.
Service and Price at LukKaiThong
This new LukKaiThong at One Bangkok offers the same good experience we had in Phuket. The food is great, the staff are efficient and friendly, and the dining room is very nicely done. It’s a good option if you want something reliable and comfortable near the city centre.
