Where to Eat in Silom and Bangrak
Silom and Bangrak are packed with great places to eat, and we had a lot of fun trying a mix of local and more refined restaurants. Some Restaurants in Bangrak were famous spots we’ve known for years, while others were new discoveries hidden in small sois. We tried everything from simple street food stalls serving fresh chicken rice or crispy pork with rice, to casual places where locals go for spicy curries and noodle soups. We also visited rooftop restaurants with city views, perfect for a drink and dinner at sunset, and even enjoyed a few Michelin-rated places that serve Thai food with a creative touch.
Each place had something different to offer, depending on the time of day, your mood or your budget. Some are very affordable and great for a quick lunch, while others are perfect for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. This area has a lot of character, and you don’t have to go far to find something delicious. We always enjoy walking around Bangrak and Silom because there’s always a good meal just around the corner. Below are some of our favourite restaurants in the Bangrak and Silom neighbourhoods.
Le Du
Michelin Restaurant
Le Du restaurant on Silom is one of our favourite restaurants in Bangkok, if not our favourite. We were lucky to discover it from the very early days and enjoyed the evolution from a young and shy hidden restaurant to a world-class, Michelin-starred venue. Chef Ton, a certified sommelier and an accomplished Chef, is involved in his passion for modern Thai cuisine using local fresh ingredients that most restaurants would overlook.
Dining at Le Du is a new culinary journey each time, as the menu often changes. That menu is not very long but covers everyone’s taste: meat, fish, plenty of vegetables and a lot of fun appetisers. The best way to enjoy the experience is to try the tasting menu, offering several smaller portions of the dishes the chef is most proud of.

Sühring
Michelin Restaurant
Sühring is a superb restaurant serving modern German cuisine and is probably one of Bangkok’s most talked-about places. The restaurant hides in a tiny street off Sathorn Road and seems to be cocooned in an overgrown green garden. You will surely need Google Maps to find it. The house is very attractive, designed on several levels with large windows and a beautiful veranda in the garden.
Even with so many rooms available, the place is often full, and you will certainly need a reservation. Once seated, you can pick the tasting menu or à la carte. The menu is complicated to understand, and it takes a lot of time to make sense of it: try to pick something between ‘snacks’, primarily’ centred’ and ‘specials’ (‘Main’ was fairly obvious). All the appetisers are very small, so don’t be shy and order a few.

100 Mahaseth
Michelin Restaurant
100 Mahaseth has become one of my go-to restaurants in Bangkok when I’m wandering around the Charoen Krung area of Bangrak. It’s been awarded a Bib Gourmand by the MICHELIN Guide, which makes sense — the food is always great, and the concept is something a bit different.
We’ve been several times, and it’s been consistently excellent each time. It’s also almost always full, but not in a chaotic way. There’s a nice buzz in the room, with that mix of warm lighting, exposed brick, and wood that makes the space feel both cosy and confident.

Eat Me
Nestled in the heart of Sathorn, Eat Me Restaurant blends contemporary design with creative international cuisine in a cosy atmosphere. Since opening in 1998, they have drawn both locals and travellers with inspired dishes, an intimate atmosphere, and artful presentation. Located steps from Convent Road, Eat Me Restaurant has always been a destination for memorable lunches and dinners, showcasing seasonal menus that celebrate fresh ingredients and bold flavours. We went there many times in the past 10 years and always loved the food and the signature ambience of spotlit tables set against softly darkened surroundings.

Baan Suriyasai
Baan Suriyasai is a heritage restaurant in Silom district, recognised in the Michelin Guide for Bangkok. Set in a restored early 20th-century house once owned by a member of the Bunnag family, the restaurant offers royal Thai cuisine grounded in classic recipes. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, highlighting flavours passed down through generations. The elegant interior, featuring original woodwork and refined details, provides a quiet setting rarely found in the city.
Silom has changed a lot over the years, but Baan Suriyasai somehow keeps its calm, tucked just off Surawong Road in a gorgeous heritage house you’d never guess was there. The moment you step in, the noise fades, and you’re surrounded by old wooden floors, high ceilings, and a sense that time slowed down inside.

80/20 Eighty Twenty
Michelin Restaurant
80/20 Eighty Twenty is a superb restaurant in the north of Silom that serves great cuisine in an area of Bangkok where not many modern restaurants have opened yet. Usually, modern cuisine chefs prefer the Thonglor and Sathorn areas, so it’s great to see new locations coming to life. If you are wondering, the name means that 80% of the ingredients are locally grown. 80/20 Eighty Twenty is listed in the Michelin Guide for Bangkok.
80/20 Eighty Twenty is fun and attractive in design, darker than average, and in a good way, it creates a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for romantic dinners or small groups of close friends. The open kitchen is buzzing with an upbeat activity, and you can tell they have fun and passion. Above it is the usual blackboard with all the day’s specials, since it relies heavily on fresh local products.

Baan Phadthai
Former Michelin Restaurant
Baan Phadthai is a beautiful restaurant which received a Michelin Bib Gourmand (inspectors’ favourites for good value), hidden in one of these tiny lanes of Bangrak between Silom and the riverside. There is no need to describe what Pad Thai is; it’s now such a famous dish that it has become the culinary flagship of Thailand and a long-time favourite to so many travellers.
So, dedicating a restaurant to a single dish might appear to be a challenge, but it is very common in Asia to focus on a single dish. If you wondered, Baan Phadthai means ‘The house of Pad Thai’, which was the right choice.

Baan Somtum
Former Michelin Restaurant
Baan Somtum is one of those places we keep going back to whenever we’re in Bangkok. It’s casual, affordable, and genuinely good — especially if you love Isan food or just want to explore beyond the usual green curry and pad Thai. The Sathon branch, technically in Bang Rak, is easy to find just off Si Wiang Road and a short walk from Surasak BTS. It’s been awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide, but don’t expect anything fancy. This place is all about flavour and consistency.
Their som tam is the main draw — and it lives up to the name. The menu features over a dozen variations, from the classic green papaya version to more adventurous ones with salted egg, crab, or even crispy pork. We’ve tried a few, but the standard som tam Thai is still our favourite. It’s perfectly balanced — not too sweet, not too sour, with just the right amount of heat. You can taste the quality in the ingredients: crisp green papaya, fresh lime, good fish sauce, and properly roasted peanuts. Even the tomatoes taste like they were picked that morning.

Benjarong Restaurant – Baan Dusit Thani
Benjarong is a beautiful Thai restaurant hidden inside Baan Dusit Thani, a classic white house surrounded by a large, green garden right in the middle of Bangkok’s busy Silom area. With the chaos of Sala Daeng’s traffic and high-rise towers just outside, walking into the garden feels almost surreal, like stepping into another world that hasn’t changed for decades.
The house is elegant without trying too hard. Wooden floors creak slightly underfoot, tall windows let in soft daylight, and the rooms are filled with vintage furniture, fresh flowers, and a few tasteful antiques. Some tables look out across the gardens, while others are tucked into corners for those who prefer a quieter meal.

Daimasu Bangkok
Daimasu is a classic and fun izakaya in Silom with late-night hours, charcoal grills, sashimi, and a drinks-first menu that draws office workers and Japanese regulars after work each night. Nantei Yakitori

Nantei Yakitori in Silom sits inside Montien Mall on Surawong Road, just opposite the famous Patpong Street. The restaurant focuses on charcoal and smokeless-grill skewers with a clean, modern setting suitable for quick lunches or relaxed dinners. The speciality is chicken parts cooked simply with tare or a distinctive mineral-rich salt linked to the Tibetan Plateau, highlighting textures like seseri (neck), tebanaka (mid-wing), tsukune with raw egg dip, and rarer cuts such as kokoro no kori (aorta) and chouchin (immature egg yolk).
