Mahanakhon Skywalk

Mahanakorn Skywalk Bangkok

Mahanakhon SkyWalk in Silom is, without a doubt, the most thrilling experience you can get in Bangkok these days. It’s quite expensive, but the views from this 360˙open space at the top of the tallest tower in Thailand justify the price. Built on the 78th floor of the iconic Mahanakhon pixelated building, this long-awaited rooftop bar offers an impressive view of the entire Bangkok metropolis.

The SkyWalk consists of three distinct floors: two indoors and one outdoors. You will probably arrive from the BTS Station Chong Nonsi, and from there, follow the signs to the ticket counters located just at the entrance of the building.

Sky Bar at Lebua

Sky Bar Rooftop Bar at Lebua Bangkok

Sky Bar Bangkok at Lebua Hotel is undoubtedly the most visited rooftop bar in the city. It was already famous since its opening for a unique location near the Chao Phraya River, a staggering height of 62 floors and mostly an iconic golden dome. After being featured in the Hangover II movie, it suddenly became a Bangkok must-do on every traveller’s list.

The Sky Bar stands majestically 64 floors above the rest of Bangkok, and wherever you stand on this rooftop, the view is breathtaking. Once you step out of the dome, the first thing you see is the large staircase leading to this bar itself, where a circular counter glows with ever-changing colour.

Vertigo Rooftop and Moon Bar

Vertigo Rooftop and Moon Bar at Banyan Tree Bangkok

Vertigo Rooftop and Moon Bar are among the best rooftops in Bangkok, on the 61st floor of the famous Banyan Tree Hotel on Sathorn Road, a tall, skinny-looking building. Vertigo is a restaurant where you can have dinner with some pretty amazing views, but most people like to hang out in the comfortable chairs and sofas of the bar for a sunset drink and some unforgettable photos.

While not as nice as at the Hilton 360, the views are breathtaking. You can get a panoramic view of the megalopolis spreading as far as the eye can see if the sky is clear, which is not too often in Bangkok.

Le Du Kaan Rooftop

Le Du Kaan Restaurant Bangkok

Le Du Kaan, on the 56th floor of The Empire Tower on Sathorn Road in Bangkok’s Silom district, is a remarkable dining experience that combines panoramic city views with creative Thai cuisine. This Rooftop restaurant is the latest addition to the culinary collection of our longtime friend Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn, who began his journey about ten years ago with his very first restaurant just across the street, called Le Du.

Located just across the street, Le Du has since earned a Michelin star and international acclaim for its modern take on Thai cuisine. While Chef Ton is the creator and owner of Le Du Kaan, the kitchen is run by Chef Banky, who previously led Samut, Chef Ton’s fine dining restaurant in Phuket, which focuses on southern Thai flavors and local seafood.

Spire Rooftop Bar

Spire Rooftop Bar at Dusit Thani Bangkok

Spire rooftop bar is the newest venue at the rebuilt Dusit Thani Bangkok, and it really impressed us during our recent visit. Spread over three floors on the 39th floor on the edge of Silom, this massive rooftop bar is both modern and comfortable, offering plenty of space to relax with friends or take in the view with a drink. To reach the rooftop, you’ll need to take two sets of lifts, but it’s well signposted and easy to find once inside the hotel.

Two of the levels feature large terraces with tables and soft lounge chairs. The top floor is the most impressive: an open-air deck with a stunning illuminated golden spire standing tall in the middle. This is a nice tribute to the old Dusit hotel, where the same spire used to be one of the most recognisable landmarks in Bangkok. It now feels like it has found its place again, even more visible than before.

Hi So Rooftop

Hi So rooftop bar at So Sofitel Bangkok

Hi-So Rooftop Bar at SO/ Bangkok offers panoramic city and Lumpini Park views from the 26th floor. We found the design striking, with friendly staff dressed in unique Thai attire. Drink prices are high but not extreme compared to other luxury rooftops. The terrace faces north, so there’s no sunset, but nighttime city lights over the immense Lumphini Park create a memorable scene. For more privacy, an upper floor has slightly different vistas. Dress code is smart casual.

Yao Rooftop Bar

Yao Rooftop Bar Bangkok

Yao Rooftop Bar is a striking addition to Bangkok‘s growing collection of rooftops. It may not be much talked about (so far), but with its soft Chinese theme and stunning views, it is a new gem on our list. Located on the 52nd and 53rd floors of the Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse in Silom, Yao offers rewarding views of the city skyline with a good 360˙ panoramic view. Note that Yao is a true rooftop with a full open sky; you can walk to the very edge of the building and look all the way down as the terraces are surrounded by a safe mid-high glass rail (which is not always the case on some rooftops).

The rooftop is surprisingly vast and beautifully decorated with a Chinese theme. There is plenty of comfortable seating everywhere, from oversized sofas with cushions to high tables for two along the edge, with just a small but safe glass wall to separate you from the view. Among the most iconic landmarks, you will easily recognize other nearby rooftops: the new architectural wonder of Mahanakorn Skywalk, the already popular Sky Bar made even more famous by the movie ‘The Hangover 2’.

Patpong Night Market

Patpong Night Market

Patpong Night Market is a vibrant and busy market known for its lively atmosphere and vast choice of goods, mostly fake brands. It offers a variety of items such as clothing, accessories, souvenirs, sunglasses and bags. Visitors can also find street food stalls serving cheap local food. However, it’s important to note that Patpong is also famous for its nightlife, with many go-go bars and clubs lining each side of the market.

Thaniya Road

Thaniya Road Bangkok

Soi Thaniya, nicknamed Little Tokyo, is a bustling 300‑metre street off Silom Road just steps from Sala Daeng BTS and Patpong nightlife. By day and night, it glows with neon Japanese signs and hosts over 40 Japanese restaurants—ramen, izakaya, tonkatsu—plus several hostess bars designed for Japanese visitors.

At the entrance stands Thaniya Plaza, a small mall with Japanese shops and golf‑gear stores. Halfway down, a side‑alley called Silom 7 adds more eateries and some Chinese options. It feels like a slice of Japan in Bangkok: friendly, lively, and easy to reach from BTS Sala Daeng.
