Fishball Noodles in Chinatown
Right on the main road of Bangkok’s Chinatown, Yoo Fish Ball Noodle is one of those low-key street food spots that’s been quietly feeding locals for generations. No gimmicks, no over-the-top menus, just handmade fish balls, familiar flavours, and a few golden fried snacks on the side.
We dropped by for a quick bite and ordered their classic fish ball noodle soup, a clear, comforting broth with silky rice noodles and a generous helping of bouncy fish balls (60–80 baht). The broth is light but packed with umami, and the fish balls are firm, fresh, and gently sweet as they are made in-house..
On the side, we added fried taro (139 baht) and shrimp Kanom Jeeb (59 baht). The taro was crispy, and it came with a sweet sauce; the flavour goes very well as a condiment to the noodles. The kanom jeeb were soft, savoury, and stuffed with minced shrimp, which was simple, juicy, and delicious.
It’s a fast, no-frills kind of place, but the food hits the mark. If you’re wandering around Yaowarat and craving something light, old-school, and flavourful, Yoo’s got you covered.
