A Unique Restaurant and Bar at Asiatique
The Sirimahannop Tall Ship, anchored at Asiatique the Riverfront Night Market in Bangkok, was built to honour the memory of the renowned “Thoon Kramom” vessel. This ship, weighing 475 tons with three masts, was the largest in Siam and facilitated trade between the Kingdom of Siam and Western nations, ushering in prosperity.
It was constructed during the early trading era between Siam and the West, a period initiated by King Mongkut (Rama IV)’s advocacy for free trade. This advocacy eventually led to the signing of the Bowring Treaty with Great Britain, bolstering trade and diplomatic relations. The Sirimahannop is a replica of this iconic ship, permanently anchored in front of the night market and serving dinner and drink every day of the week.
