Sai Saard Arun

A Local Noodle Shop Opposite Wat Arun

Right opposite Wat Arun, Sai Saard Arun is one of those local noodle spots in Thonburi that quietly earns a reputation among tourists. It’s clean, fast, and perfect for a casual lunch stop. It earned the “Shell Chuan Chim” sign, which was one of the earliest and most trusted food recommendation systems in Thailand, like an early Thai version of a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Seeing the sign meant the spot was tried, tasted, and approved for quality and cleanliness.

Sai Saard

Food came out hot and quick. Portions are good for the price, as they are enough to fill you up without being too heavy. Prices are reasonable for the quality and cleanliness you’re getting. No frills, just straightforward, well-executed noodles. Perfect for a stop around Wat Arun.

What We Ordered

Dry beef noodles

Sai Saard

We ordered the dry beef noodles, which consisted of thin rice noodles tossed in a sweet soy sauce with plenty of fried garlic, topped with tender Broiled Beef. Every bite is savoury-sweet with that aromatic garlic crunch, not greasy but rich and satisfying.

Pork Kao Lao

Sai Saard

Also tried the kao lao (70 baht), their clear Pork soup without noodles, light but still full of Porky flavour.

Grilled Pork

Sai Saard

As a side, the grilled pork (45 baht) was nicely charred, a touch sweet, and paired perfectly with the noodles.
