This market is different to the other floating markets you have seen or heard of as it’s not a floating market but more of a communal area with the most popular place being “Baan Silapin” also known as Artist’s House, an old house that has turned into a gallery.

Artist’s House is the prime destination when visiting the Khlong Bang Luang floating market. The artist’s house is an old wooden house that dates back to the Ayutthaya era. In the house, you will find many traditional paintings and products, in addition to this you can even craft your handmade product like a necklace, bracelet, hairband etc.

Furthermore, every weekend at 2 pm, the Artist’s House will exhibit their puppet show. The show takes place at the front of the entrance of the floating market. The puppet show is different every week so it will always be a unique experience.

Alongside the canal, you will see many long tail boats passing by the canal every 5 minutes. This is because Khlong Bang Luang Floating Market is a popular destination and is part of most Bangkok canal boat tours.

The market is very small, it takes only 15 minutes to walk through the market. However, there are individual shops that sell many different types of handmade products. These products are high quality as they are crafted by hand and very affordable making them a perfect souvenir to bring back home.

How to get to Khlong Bang Luang Floating Market

The easiest and cheapest way to travel to the market is by taking the MRT to MRT Bang Phai station. From the MRT station, you can get a motorbike taxi which takes only 5 minutes.
