An Elegant Jazz Bar in Ploenchit
Firefly Bar is one of those rare places in Bangkok where you instantly feel like staying longer than planned. Tucked inside the elegant Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel near Langsuan, this bar stands out with its warm lighting, elegant dark wood panels, beautiful flooring, high ceilings, and soft jazz in the background. It’s classy without feeling stiff. The collection of spirits behind the bar is also quite a sight.
We visited on a Sunday night and were surprised by how cosy it felt despite the grand setting. A live jazz band was playing just a few steps from the bar, and the sound was just right—clear enough to enjoy, but never too loud to have a proper conversation. The bar team, all in white jackets, moved smoothly behind the long counter lined with hundreds of spirits, and they were happy to tell us about the drinks.
The cocktail menu is regional, with creative twists based on Thai ingredients. We tried The River Flow, which mixes Iron Balls gin with papaya, lychee, honey, and citrus, topped with egg white foam and ginger. It was smooth and refreshing. Another favourite was Malaya, a rum-based drink with kaffir lime and mango sticky rice syrup—odd on paper, but it worked beautifully.
Drinks are priced around 470 baht, which makes sense for the quality, setting, and service. The staff told us they often have themed nights or special collaborations, so it’s worth checking before you go.
This place isn’t just for hotel guests—it feels like a proper destination for people who enjoy well-made drinks in a peaceful, refined setting. No loud crowds, no dress code pressure, just a good spot to end the night with something memorable in your glass and great Jazz music as a background.
