Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok Review
Located in the calm, upmarket area of Ploenchit, Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is one of the most exclusive hotels in the city. While Ploenchit is a bustling district, the moment you drive through the hotel’s private access road, you’ll feel the unique tranquility of this privileged area.
The iconic arched arrival area is where a welcoming team greets you warmly. From the outside, the hotel features a distinctive, elegant architecture, surrounded by immaculately manicured gardens tended to by skilled gardeners.
As you enter the impressive arched lobby, the elegance and attention to detail immediately appear. A beautifully crafted ‘Sala’ at the centre showcases exhibits of plants and flower arrangements in delicate handicrafts, often used as the backdrop for guests’ selfies. The surrounding seating area is popular with tourists and locals for enjoying a beautifully presented afternoon tea.
Beyond the hotel’s luxury, exceptional location, and unique design, the team is what impressed us the most. Whether you’re a VIP or an ordinary visitor here for a short stay, the staff makes you feel special and important without being overly formal.

Grand Deluxe Room
Our room was a Grand Deluxe Room on the 8th floor, overlooking a vast garden, offering a relaxing and private atmosphere. The room was immense and superbly decorated with taste and excellent lighting distribution. We first noticed the beautiful floor carpeting and the large windows with trees in the back, a rare luxury in Bangkok.
The elegant design of each piece of furniture, from lamps to chairs and cabinets, was striking. The entrance led to a spacious living room with a TV facing a large sofa and coffee table. Of course, there was a fridge and a tea/coffee station with an espresso machine.
The bedroom behind the living area featured an oversized king-size bed and a comfortable working station with ample outlets for charging our devices. As expected, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the pillows were just right for a restful night’s sleep.
The bathroom was equally superb, featuring elegant furnishings and a spacious, luxurious bathtub—a welcome retreat after a day of shopping or exploring Bangkok’s busy streets.

The Restaurants
Sindhorn Kempinski has four restaurants, a bar, and an excellent bakery. We dined here several times, and each meal was superb. This being one of Bangkok’s most exclusive hotels, the prices are a bit high, but every lunch and dinner was well worth it. (we paid for all our meals in full)
Ki Izakaya (Japanese)
Located on the 9th floor near the infinity pool, Ki Izakaya offers modern Japanese cuisine with a view of the Bangkok skyline. The menu by Chef Satoshi Sawada, includes Kushiyaki (grilled skewers), Amiyaki (charcoal-grilled dishes), Tempura, Sushi, Sashimi, and an Omakase chef’s menu for 1,290 THB.
