Chicha San Chen Velaa Sindhorn Village

A Famous Taiwanese Tea Shop in Bangkok

Tucked away in the basement of Velaa Sindhorn Village on Langsuan Road, Chicha San Chen has quietly become one of Bangkokโ€™s most talked-about tea spots. Itโ€™s easy to miss if youโ€™re not looking for it, but once you find it, youโ€™ll understand why people are willing to queue.

This Taiwanese tea brand isnโ€™t just another bubble tea chain. Theyโ€™ve built a reputation on precision and purity. Each cup is brewed to order using their patented LION Teapresso machine, which extracts tea with the accuracy of espressoโ€”every cup is consistent, aromatic, and surprisingly layered. They even grow and roast their own tea leaves back in Taiwan. Itโ€™s that level of control thatโ€™s earned them six consecutive years of Superior Taste Awards from the International Taste Institute.

The Velaa branch feels like a calm retreat from the city. The mall itself is low-rise and leafy, with a semi-outdoor design that makes it feel more like a garden than a shopping complex. Chicha San Chenโ€™s shop is bright, and you can watch your favourite tea being brewed and served with its iconic presentation, which adds to the experience. Itโ€™s a good spot to pause after a walk or a grocery run at Villa Market downstairs.

Favourites here include the Dong Ding Oolong Tea Latte with bubblesโ€”deep, toasty, and smoothโ€”and the Green Tea with Passion Fruit, which is bright and just sweet enough. The taro pearls are a seasonal treat; theyโ€™re soft, fragrant, and worth the wait when theyโ€™re available.
