12 Best Rooftop Bars in Silom and Sathorn

Explore the Rooftops of Silom and Sathorn

Silom is where Bangkok’s most famous rooftop bars are. Sky Bar at State Tower has been pulling crowds since The Hangover Part II came out, and it’s still packed most nights. The dome lit up against the sky, the 64th-floor views, the whole production of it. We’ve taken visitors there who don’t even drink just so they can see it. But Silom has more than Sky Bar. Vertigo at the Banyan Tree is the classic choice, completely open to the sky on the 61st floor with the Moon Bar right next to it. It’s been around since 2003 and still feels special. Spire is the newest addition, sitting on top of the new Dusit Thani, with that golden spire visible from across the city. Le Du Kaan opened recently on the 56th floor, combining Chef Ton’s cooking with proper rooftop views. That’s rare. Most rooftops focus on drinks and skip the food, but this one takes both seriously. Silom rooftops tend to be fancier than Sukhumvit. Dress codes are stricter, prices are higher, and the crowd skews older. If you want the full Bangkok rooftop experience with the dramatic views and the Instagram moments, this is where you come.

Vertigo at Banyan Tree (Moon Bar)

Vertigo Rooftop Bar Bangkok

61st Floor – Location: Sathorn
Vertigo and Moon Bar at Banyan Tree Bangkok is one of those places I always enjoy coming back to, even after visiting dozens of other rooftops in Bangkok. No glass walls, no big flashy lights — just Bangkok stretching in every direction and a low-lit bar where you can sit with a drink and take it all in.

78th Floor – Location: Sathorn
Mahanakhon SkyWalk is probably the most thrilling rooftop experience you can get in Bangkok — and yes, it’s a bit expensive, but once you’re standing at the top of Thailand’s tallest building, it feels worth it. From there, you can explore a huge indoor observation deck before taking a glass elevator (or the stairs) up to the 78th floor, 314 metres above Bangkok.

More About Silom

Bangkok Rooftop Bar by Areas

FAQs about the Rooftops of Silom

A. Sky Bar at Lebua is the most famous, with its 64th-floor views over the Chao Phraya River. Vertigo at the Banyan Tree is the classic choice if you prefer a completely open-air setting. For something newer, Spire at Dusit Thani opened in 2024 with a striking golden spire design.
A. Mahanakhon SkyWalk is the highest at 78 floors, though it’s more of an observation deck than a bar. For a proper rooftop bar, Sky Bar on the 64th floor and Vertigo on the 61st floor offer the most dramatic heights. Nobu Bangkok spans the 57th to 60th floors with 360-degree views.
A. Yes, Silom rooftops are stricter than other areas. Sky Bar, Vertigo, Nobu, and Le Du Kaan all require smart casual. No shorts, flip-flops, or sleeveless shirts for men. Throwback and Central Park are more relaxed if you want something casual.
A. Silom rooftops are generally expensive. Cocktails at Sky Bar and Vertigo start around 500 to 700 Baht. Nobu and Le Du Kaan are even higher. For better value, try Throwback on the 9th floor where drinks run 200 to 350 Baht, or Yao which has happy hour deals.
A. Sky Bar doesn’t take reservations for the bar area, so arrive early, ideally before 6 pm, to get a spot near the edge. Vertigo accepts reservations for the restaurant but not the Moon Bar next to it. On weekends, both get crowded quickly after sunset.
A. Le Du Kaan is the standout for Thai fine dining with rooftop views. Nobu Bangkok offers modern Japanese cuisine across three floors. Vertigo has a proper restaurant alongside Moon Bar if you want dinner with your drinks. Scarlett at the Pullman is good for French food and wine.
