Where to Find the Best Views in Bangkok
The highest rooftop bars in Bangkok sit anywhere from the 46th to the 78th floor, and if altitude matters to you, these are the places to go. We’ve ranked them strictly by floor number, starting with Sky Beach at the very top of the Mahanakhon building. Some are clustered at Lebua’s State Tower on the riverside, others spread across Sathorn’s Empire Tower, and a couple have been around long enough to be considered Bangkok classics. What’s interesting is that the floor number doesn’t always match the actual height. Akara Sky Hanuman on the 61st floor is technically taller in metres than some 63rd-floor bars because the building itself is higher. But for most people, it’s the floor count that matters. These ten venues all deliver that feeling of being on top of the city, whether you’re there for the views, the drinks, or just to say you’ve been.

🍹 The Highest Rooftops of Bangkok!
1. Sky Beach – Mahanakhon (78th Floor)
Sky Beach at the top of King Power Mahanakhon holds the title of Bangkok’s highest open-air rooftop bar. The 78th floor sits above the observation decks, and you can walk on the famous glass-floor SkyWalk before settling in for a drink. The space has a retro look with yellow furnishings and an open deck that feels exposed to the elements when the wind picks up. Entry is usually through a ticketed system, around 880 to 1,000 Baht, which includes access to the SkyWalk and one drink. Cocktails at the bar start from about 500 Baht. Hours run from late morning to midnight, but sunset onwards is the busiest time, and tickets can sell out on weekends. Smart casual dress code applies, so sportswear and beach clothes are better avoided. We went on a clear evening, and the views stretched all the way to the river.
- Location: King Power Mahanakhon, Silom
- Floor: 78th
- Hours: 10 am – 12 am
- Dress Code: Smart casual
2. Sky Bar – Lebua at State Tower (63rd Floor)
Sky Bar at Lebua is probably the most photographed rooftop in Bangkok. The golden dome and stairway above the Chao Phraya River became world-famous after appearing in The Hangover Part II, and it hasn’t slowed down since. It’s a standing-only bar attached to the Sirocco restaurant terrace, so it can feel packed and strictly managed, especially for photos. Cocktails are among the most expensive in Bangkok, usually starting around 750 to 900 Baht, and imported beer is about 450 Baht and above. The bar opens from 5 pm until midnight and is heavily sunset-focused. The dress code is strict smart casual, with no shorts, flip-flops, or sleeveless tops for men. Staff do refuse entry if guests are underdressed. We’ve been several times, and the river view at sunset is still hard to beat.
- Location: Lebua at State Tower, Silom
- Floor: 63rd
- Hours: 5 pm – 12 am
- Dress Code: Strict smart casual
3. Akara Sky Hanuman – One City Centre (61st Floor)
Akara Sky Hanuman opened in 2024 and quickly became one of the most striking high-rise rooftops in the city. It runs across the upper floors of One City Centre near Ploenchit, with the highest terrace on the 61st floor. The concept blends Thai mythology with modern design, including a giant Hanuman figure and detailed décor that makes it stand out from typical hotel bars. Guests pay an access pass of around 1,000 Baht, fully redeemable for food and drinks. Cocktails start around 450 to 500 Baht, which is competitive for this height. The bar opens around 5 pm and can run as late as 2 am, attracting a younger, more local crowd than some hotel sky bars. Dress is casual chic rather than strict. Trainers and shorts are accepted as long as they look tidy. We found it refreshing to see something distinctly Thai rather than the usual international hotel style.- Location: One City Centre, Ploenchit
- Floor: 61st
- Hours: 5 pm – 2 am
- Dress Code: Casual chic
4. Vertigo & Moon Bar – Banyan Tree (61st Floor)
Vertigo and Moon Bar share the roof of Banyan Tree Bangkok’s 61st floor and have been long-time classics on the rooftop bar circuit. The entire top is a terrace shaped like a ship’s deck, with Vertigo as the dining side and Moon Bar as the main drinks area. It’s completely open-air with nothing blocking the view in any direction. Cocktails are usually priced around 550 to 650 Baht, and beer is roughly 300 to 350 Baht, in line with 5-star hotel pricing. Hours are typically 5 pm to 1 am, and reservations are recommended for dinner but not always necessary for drinks if you arrive early. The dress code is smart casual, with long trousers and closed shoes expected for men in the evening. We still consider this one of the best rooftops in Bangkok for a classic experience. Location: Banyan Tree Bangkok, Sathorn.- Floor: 61st
- Hours: 5 pm – 1 am
- Dress Code: Smart casual
5. Nobu Bangkok – Empire Tower (60th Floor)
Nobu Bangkok is a Japanese-Peruvian rooftop restaurant and bar spread over the 57th, 58th, and 60th floors of Empire Tower on Sathorn Road. The 58th-floor outdoor terrace is also used for cocktails, but the highest bar counter is on 60. Signature cocktails like the Matsuhisa Martini and Lychee Elderflower Martini are priced around 450 Baht, and most drinks fall in the 450 to 600 Baht range. Food is premium, with dishes like Black Cod Miso nearing 1,900 Baht. The restaurant and bar usually run from 5:30 pm to 1 am. The dress code is smart casual with an elegant leaning. Guests generally dress up, and beach clothes would feel out of place.- Location: Empire Tower, Sathorn

It’s operated by the team behind Bangkok’s Michelin-starred Le Du and focuses on seasonal Thai cuisine with a dedicated bar serving Thai-inspired cocktails. The restaurant uses both indoor and outdoor areas on the 56th floor for dining and drinks. Cocktails generally fall around 450 to 600 Baht, in line with similarly upscale rooftops. Overall, the bills for two can easily reach several thousand Baht when ordering multiple dishes and drinks. Service usually runs for lunch and dinner, approximately 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and 5 pm to 1 am, but the bar atmosphere is strongest in the evening. As with Nobu, dress is smart casual or elegant.- Location: Empire Tower, Sathorn

8. Red Sky – Centara Grand (56th Floor)
Red Sky is a Bangkok classic that’s been running for years and still pulls a crowd. The venue has dining on the 55th floor and the main bar level on the 56th. A large illuminated arch curves over the terrace and changes colour at night, making the venue easy to spot from street level. The bar is popular with shoppers because it’s directly connected to CentralWorld. Cocktails usually range from 480 to 600 Baht, while beer starts at around 300 Baht. Red Sky opens in late afternoon, around 4 pm, and stays open until about 1 am. Earlier times are better for quieter sunset drinks. The lower floor offers indoor and semi-outdoor dining, the middle floor is a bar lounge, and the top level is a compact open-air circle with 360-degree views. This multi-level layout gives guests a choice between quieter seating and the busier top. Cocktails normally start around 550 to 650 Baht, and local beer is about 300 to 350 Baht. Hours are typically 5 pm to 2 am, and the bar is known for its sunset slot and DJ sets late at night. No tall buildings nearby means you get a proper 360-degree panorama, which is rare even for Bangkok rooftops. We keep coming back here for sunsets.
