Madame Tussauds Bangkok

A fun indoor stop in the heart of Siam

Madame Tussauds Bangkok is a fun indoor attraction on the 6th floor of Siam Discovery, right in the centre of Bangkokโ€™s shopping district. We visited recently and spent over an hour taking photos with incredibly realistic wax figures of famous people from around the world. Itโ€™s a good break from the heat or the rain, and traffic outside, and surprisingly entertaining, even for adults.

What to Expect Inside

The museum is divided into themed zones. Visitors can walk through at their own pace, pose with the figures, and enjoy a bit of history or movie trivia along the way. There are no barriers, so everyone is encouraged to get close and take fun photos.

Some figures are surprisingly lifelike. We started in the film section, where characters like Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Johnny Depp are displayed with detailed settings and lighting. The expressions and clothing are impressive, and the background music makes each area feel more immersive.

Further along, we found a section dedicated to world leaders and famous thinkers. Albert Einstein stands in front of a chalkboard with a childlike drawing next to his formula. Thereโ€™s also Silpa Bhirasri, the โ€œFather of modern art in Thailandโ€.

Sports fans will probably recognise David Beckham in his training outfit doing sit-ups on a bench, while music lovers can spot Michael Jackson in a classic dance pose.

Location and Tickets

Madame Tussauds Bangkok is located in Siam Discovery Mall, easily reached by BTS Skytrain (Siam Station). Tickets can be bought online or at the entrance, and combo packages with SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World are often available.

Summary

This isnโ€™t a must-see for every traveller, but if youโ€™re staying nearby or need something fun and air-conditioned for the afternoon, itโ€™s worth a visit. We didnโ€™t expect to enjoy it as much as we did. The figures are well done, and itโ€™s a great place for photos with celebrities, without the crowds.
