Banthat Thong Road

A New Food Paradise on the edge of Siam

Banthat Thong Road is the place to be if you are looking for a trendy and lively neighbourhood filled with delicious street food and restaurants. It is located between Hua Lamphong Station and Siam. Around 1.5 km walk from Siam. The street has grown to be one of Bangkokโ€™s trendiest places. Its vintage townhouse-style buildings mixed with modern interior and exterior designs of each shop give the feeling of liveliness, yet still hold a relaxed vibe.

Banthat Thong Road

The food is the primary factor behind Banthat Thong Roadโ€™s popularity. For foodies, this street is a haven. Youโ€™ll find everything from traditional Thai street food like pad thai and som tam to contemporary fusion meals and desserts.

When it is nighttime, the street comes alive with vibrant lights of each shop illuminating the streets. Making it a perfect place for a late-night snack or a chill night stroll with friends, as thereโ€™s a variety of food options accommodating everyone.

Banthat Thong Road

Banthat Thong road is home to many famous dessert shops, for example, in the 2 photos above, Nueng Nom Nua and Mother Cow. Both of these shops specialise in Milk desserts like fresh milk, soft serve ice cream and khanom pang sangkhay, which is toasted bread with Sweet Pandan dipping sauce.

However, I recommended going on weekdays since both of these shops are extremely busy, especially Nueng Nom Nua, where you could be waiting in line for about an hour or two.

Furthermore, Banthat Thong Road isnโ€™t just a place to enjoy food because, between the popular eateries, you will find vibey shops and art spaces or even live music spots to enjoy drinks with friends. The street gives off a youthful energy thanks to its being next to Chulalongkorn University.

Overall, it is a great place to experience Bangkokโ€™s vibrant energy while feeling relaxed. If this type of place is for you, then Banthat Thong Road should be the first place on your itinerary.
