Chatuchak Bangkok

Discover the Highlights of Chatuchak

The best things to do in Chatuchak are some of the most fun and local experiences you can have in Bangkok, blending giant markets with relaxed green spaces. The area is anchored by the Chatuchak Weekend Market, a world-famous weekend maze where you can shop for Thai crafts, streetwear, art, plants, home decor, and endless street food all in one place. Nearby, the Red Building Vintage adds another layer to the shopping scene in Bangkok, with multiple floors of antiques, retro collectables, and standout vintage fashion in an easy-to-browse, air-conditioned setting.

Beyond shopping, some of the Best Things to do in Chatuchak also include some of Bangkok’s best food markets and parks. Or Tor Kor Market is a top stop for high-quality Thai produce, seafood, snacks, and ready-to-eat dishes, making it ideal for breakfast or lunch before you continue exploring. When you want a breather, Wachirabenchathat Park, better known as Rot Fai Park or Train Park, offers lakes, cycling paths, and wide open space, while Chatuchak Park next door gives you a shady, peaceful break right beside the market zone in Bangkok.

Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok

Or Tor Kor Market is one of Bangkok’s most well-known fresh markets, especially for its high-quality fruits, seafood, and Thai ingredients. Located just across the road from the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market, it’s an easy place to explore if you’re already in the area. But don’t expect a regular wet market experience—Or Tor Kor is much cleaner, better organised, and more focused on premium products.

Wachirabenchathat Park (Rod Fai Park)

Wachirabenjathat Park Bangkok

Wachirabenchathat Park, or Rod Fai Park, is the bigger, greener neighbour right next to Chatuchak Park in Bangkok, and we always recommend it if you want a proper park day. We went over there after Chatuchak Park, and you can really feel the difference straight away. This one is way more spacious, more trees, more quiet corners, and it feels like you actually escaped the city, even though you are still in the Chatuchak area.

Chatuchak Park

Chatuchak Park in Bangkok

Chatuchak Park in Bangkok is still one of those easy green spots we recommend when you want a quick outdoor break without going far. We went there recently, and it was just a really nice, low-effort stop. The location is perfect too because it sits right next to BTS Mo Chit, so you can hop off the train and be in the park almost right away, or even combine it with a visit to the famous Chatuchak Market located just 400 meters away. The park is smaller than Wachirabenchathat Park next door, but we kind of like that about it. It is very simple, like you can wander without needing to plan. When we were there, the vibe was very relaxed, people jogging, doing light exercise, or just sitting and chatting under the trees. If you are looking for a chill walk rather than a big adventure, this place fits.
