A Chinese dessert shop in Chinatown
Ba Hao Tian Mi is this tiny little dessert bar tucked inside Soi Nana, just off Yaowarat Road. Youโd probably walk right past it if you didnโt know what it look like. The exterior got this lowkey, cozy vibe with warm lighting and vintage Chinese decor. We dropped in after dinner one night, mostly out of curiosity because weโd heard people rave about their desserts. And yeah, now we get it.
We ordered the Black Sesame Pudding and the Uji Matcha Azuki Pudding, and both were honestly way better than I expected. The Black sesame had an amazing roasted smell and taste, while the matcha version, you can taste the quality of the matcha they use which is paired with the soft red bean on top. Both had this super soft smooth texture making it very satisfying.
They also have other Chinese-inspired desserts like taro balls and grass jelly, and everything feels very thought-through. The ingredients, the textures, even how it looks โ itโs all just really well done. Prices are on the higher side (around 100โ200 baht), but for what you get, itโs worth it. Plus, the vibe is nice for sitting down and taking a break from the Chinatown chaos outside.
Ba Hao Tian Mi opens in the afternoon till late, and itโs especially popular after dinner, so be ready to wait a bit if you come during peak time. If youโre walking around Chinatown and want something chilled and different, this is one place thatโs easy to love.
