Mega Plaza Saphan Lek is a massive shopping mall in Bangkok. It is located in Bangkok Old Town and very close to Chinatown. It is the prime destination for gamers and toy collectors. The mall offers anything from action figures, art toys, electronic gadgets, trading cards and anime merchandise. It has a very lively atmosphere, a beautiful shopping mall for tourists and locals who are interested in collectables.

Inside, the mall isn’t organised into sections; it feels more like a maze filled with small shops selling everything from popular anime to instant classics from Western films. Each shop specialises in its own niche items, making it a very interesting stroll. Families usually come to hunt for toys at a cheaper price, while the serious collectors come for the rare collectables.

Visitors can expect to find an impressive and immense number of toys and collectables spread across 7 floors. The 1st floor to the 5th floors are all toys, this is where you will find the action figures, art toys and trading cards. The 6th floor is made up of mostly camera gadgets, but you can expect to find some toys here as well. Lastly, the 7th Floor, a section of which is home to the food court, offers a place to relax and grab a bite when you are hungry.

Furthermore, the 7th floor seems to be where all the extremely rare toys are displayed. You will find very expensive and rare art toys here. Also, you will find extremely huge figures, some being up to 7ft tall. Altogether, Mega Plaza is not only a shopping destination but also a cultural hub for Thai collectors.

How to get to Mega Plaza Saphan Lek

By MRT (Recommended)

Take the MRT Blue Line to Sam Yot Station. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to Mega Plaza.

By BTS Skytrain

Take the BTS to National Stadium Station (Silom Line). From there, a short taxi or tuk-tuk ride will take you directly to the mall.

By Boat

Ride the Chao Phraya Express Boat and get off at Ratchawong Pier. From the pier, it’s a short tuk-tuk or taxi ride to the plaza.
