PP Princess Resort sits right on Loh Dalum Bay, one of the best beaches on Phi Phi Islands. The resort spreads across the central section of the bay, and all rooms are within about 30 metres of the sand. It is a short walk from Tonsai Pier and the village, so you get beach and convenience in the same place. The resort has 67 rooms across two floors, including deluxe rooms, pool villas and private pool villas. It is one of the few hotels on Phi Phi with a proper beachfront pool area and direct garden access to Loh Dalum Bay.

Location

The resort faces Loh Dalum Bay on the north side of the narrow isthmus that connects the two halves of Phi Phi Don. Tonsai Pier, where all ferries from Phuket and Krabi arrive, is about 300 metres away. The village centre with its restaurants, bars and small shops is a 5-minute walk. Long Beach is reachable by a short path or a quick longtail boat ride. The location is central to everything, which is a real plus, but it also means that evening music from the beach bars along Loh Dalum can be heard from some rooms, especially those closest to the beach.

Atmosphere

PP Princess has the feel of a mid-range resort that knows its location is its biggest asset. The grounds are green and well kept, with the two swimming pools as the centrepiece. The main pool overlooks the beach and has a swim-up bar. It is not a luxury resort in the five-star sense, but it is comfortable, well-maintained and a clear step above the budget guesthouses in the village. The vibe is relaxed during the day, with guests splitting time between the pool, the beach and the restaurants. The staff are known for being friendly and helpful.

About the Rooms

There are four room categories. The Deluxe Rooms are the entry level, at about 42 sqm with air conditioning, flat-screen TV, minibar, fridge, and a private bathroom with a hot shower. They are simple but clean and practical. The Deluxe Villas are slightly more spacious with garden or partial sea views. The Pool Villas come with access to a semi-private pool shared among a few rooms. The Private Pool Villas are the top category, with their own plunge pool and more privacy. All rooms are on the ground or first floor, so there is no lift needed.

Dining

The resort has four restaurants and several bars. The main restaurant, Princess Restaurant, serves a breakfast buffet each morning and international dishes throughout the day. Blue Marine focuses on Thai seafood. There are also two beach bars on the Loh Dalum side where you can grab drinks and snacks with your feet almost in the sand. A swim-up bar and a poolside bar round out the options. The food is decent resort fare. For more variety, the village is a few minutes away with dozens of independent restaurants.

What You Can Do

The resort can arrange snorkelling trips, diving excursions, longtail boat tours to Maya Bay and Bamboo Island, and kayak rentals. Paddleboarding is also available. The tour desk in the lobby can book all the popular day trips. The Phi Phi Viewpoint is about a 20 to 30 minute hike from the resort, and the start of the trail is within walking distance. Evenings on Loh Dalum Beach are lively, with fire shows, music and beach bars. If you want to join the party, it is right on your doorstep.
