Location

The resort sits on the coastal path that connects Tonsai to Long Beach, on the southeast side of the narrow isthmus. It is not in the heart of the village, which is actually a positive. The walk to Tonsai Pier takes about 15 minutes along a paved path with shops, bars, and cafes along the way. Long Beach is accessible from the resort by continuing along the coastal path. When you arrive by ferry at Tonsai Pier, the resort sends staff to meet you and carry your luggage. That is a useful touch because dragging bags through the narrow walkways of Phi Phi village is no fun.

Atmosphere

Phi Phi Villa Resort feels like a quiet pocket on a noisy island. The tropical garden setting, the private beach, and the distance from the main party zone give it a calmer atmosphere than most places in Tonsai. It is not a luxury resort and does not pretend to be. Think simple Thai-style bungalows in green surroundings with a good pool and beach access.

It works well for travellers who want to be close to the action without sleeping in it. During the day, the pool area and private beach are relaxing. In the evening, there is a beach bar called Carpe Diem with occasional live music in the late afternoons.
