Beachfront Hotel in Phi Phi Island
Phi Phi CoCo Beach Resort is a 4-star resort on the western end of Loh Dalum Beach, one of the best beaches on Phi Phi Island. The resort has 77 rooms, all in standalone bamboo bungalows set among tropical gardens. It opened relatively recently and still feels fresh. The location is about a 10-minute walk from Tonsai Pier and the village centre, which puts you close enough to everything but away from the busiest part of the strip. The beach in front of the resort is part of the same long sweep of white sand that makes Loh Dalum famous, but this western end tends to be quieter than the section closer to the fire show bars.
Location

The resort is on the western end of Loh Dalum Bay, close to Monkey Beach. Tonsai Pier is about a 10-minute walk east along the beach path or through the village alleys. There are a few restaurants and small shops along the way, so the walk is easy and interesting. The resort arranges to meet guests at the pier on arrival and helps with luggage. Being at this end of the bay means you get a slightly different perspective on Loh Dalum: the beach is still wide and the water is still turquoise, but you are not sitting next to the loudest bars.
Atmosphere
CoCo Beach has a relaxed, tropical feel. The bamboo bungalows, the garden paths, and the pool area give it more of a resort atmosphere than the guesthouses and budget hotels closer to the village. The staff are consistently praised for being friendly and attentive. During the day, the pool and beachfront are calm. In the evening, there is one thing to be aware of: sound carries across the bay from the fire show bars and beach clubs on the eastern end of Loh Dalum. The music is audible from about 10 pm to 2:30 am. The resort provides earplugs. If you are a light sleeper, ask for one of the Tropical Bungalows further back from the beachfront, which are the quietest rooms on the property.
About the Rooms

All 77 rooms are standalone bamboo bungalows. The design uses natural materials and gives each room a private, cabin-like feel rather than a hotel corridor setup. Every bungalow has air conditioning, flat-screen TV, seating area, minibar (stocked with some complimentary items), coffee and tea maker, bathrobes, and a private balcony or terrace. Bathrooms have a shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries. The bungalows are spread across the garden in rows, with those closest to the pool and beach having the best views but also more exposure to evening noise from across the bay. Sea View Bungalows are the top category, with a private terrace facing the ocean.
Dining

CoCo Restaurant is the main dining venue, with a poolside setting. It serves Thai and international dishes, including fresh seafood and a salad bar. Breakfast is a buffet with continental and cooked options. The pool bar serves cocktails, shakes, and snacks throughout the day, and there is also a small coffee shop. The food is decent resort fare. For more variety, the walk into Tonsai takes about 10 minutes, where you have dozens of independent restaurants.
What You Can Do
The swimming pool has a swim-up bar and is surrounded by sun loungers and free cabanas. Kayaks are available for guests (one hour complimentary). Thai massage is offered poolside with sea views. The resort can arrange snorkelling trips, diving excursions, and boat tours to Maya Bay and Bamboo Island through the tour desk. Monkey Beach is about 300 metres from the resort and easy to reach on foot or by kayak. The beach itself is excellent for swimming, with shallow turquoise water and soft white sand.
