10 Best Hotels in Bangkok Old Town

Hotels in Bangkok Old Town

Most hotels in Bangkok Old Town are small boutique properties, many in renovated old buildings along the riverside. The main selling point is the view of Wat Arun across the Chao Phraya River, especially from rooftop bars and restaurants. There are a few luxury options, but most are mid-range or budget, particularly around the Khao San area.

The trade-off for staying here is transport. MRT and BTS stations are further away than in other parts of Bangkok, so you’ll rely more on boats, taxis, or walking. But if you want to be close to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and the riverside, this is the area to stay.

Chakrabongse Villas

The restaurant serves Royal Thai Cuisine with Wat Arun as the backdrop. They also host weddings and events. Expensive, but if you want the best Wat Arun views from your hotel, this is probably it.
