Mother Roaster Songwat is another branch of the original Mother Roaster Talat Noi, and that origin story still follows the brand around. The Song Wat Road branch is a different proposition from the one in Talat Noi. It sits at street level in a converted shophouse, with black steel-frame glass doors opening onto the pavement, pale blue-green heritage shutters on either side, and a clean interior that feels properly thought through. The coffee crowd knows this place. Most people walking Song Wat for the first time will not notice it.

The Space

Inside, it is white walls, exposed concrete floors, and globe pendant lights strung at different heights across a narrow room that opens further back than the facade suggests. The seating mixes a low sofa area at the front with bar stools along the counter and a handful of small tables toward the back.

The shelves behind the bar display boxed coffee beans and brewing equipment in neat rows, and a small dessert case sits beside the counter. A few abstract prints hang on one wall. The overall feel leans Scandinavian with clean lines, warm lighting, and natural textures in the wicker and wood, which sit a little unexpectedly but not unpleasantly against the old shophouse bones of Song Wat Road.

The Coffee

The menu at Mother Roaster Songwat leans on signature drinks built around the house style. The Dark Calamansi and the Black Honey Lime are both worth trying; these are not standard cafe drinks, and the citrus-forward approach suits the climate well.

The drip bar handles a single-origin filter for those who want to go that route, with local Thai beans and imported options available. Prices sit in the 100 to 200 baht range, depending on what you order and the bean selection.
