About Phi Phi Island
Phi Phi Island is one of the most famous island destinations in Thailand, about 45 kilometres southeast of Phuket. The archipelago is made up of six islands, but the two main ones are Phi Phi Don, where the village, hotels, and ferry pier are, and Phi Phi Leh, which is uninhabited and home to the famous Maya Bay.
Most visitors come on day trips from Phuket by speedboat or ferry. The journey takes about 45 minutes by speedboat or around 90 minutes by ferry. Day trips typically include stops for snorkelling, swimming, and a visit to Maya Bay. The water around Phi Phi is some of the clearest in the region, with good visibility and plenty of marine life.
Phi Phi Don has a lively village with restaurants, bars, and dive shops. The viewpoint hike to the top of the island is steep but rewards you with one of the most photographed views in Thailand. The nightlife on Phi Phi is famously energetic, with beach bars and fire shows after dark.
