OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort is a five-star resort on Laem Tong Beach, at the quiet northern tip of Phi Phi Island. Previously known as Zeavola Resort, the property was acquired by Outrigger Hospitality Group in 2025 and fully renovated. It reopened under the new brand with 63 suites and villas. The resort is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

The Location and the Beach

Laem Tong Beach is about as far from the busy Tonsai Bay area as you can get on Phi Phi Don. There are no roads here and no village crowds. The resort sits right on a white sand beach with clear water and good snorkelling just offshore. The whole northern tip of the island feels like a different world compared to the backpacker scene further south. You can only reach it by boat, which keeps things peaceful.

The Rooms

The resort has 63 suites and villas spread across a tropical garden. Room categories start with Garden Suites that have separate living areas. Family Suites are designed for those travelling with children. The standout options are the Beachfront Pool Suites, which come with a private pool and whirlpool right by the sand, and the Hill Top Pool Villas with private infinity pools and wide views over the rainforest and sea. The design follows a concept called “Nit Thra,” which roughly means “the soul of rest.” Rooms feature natural textures, handcrafted furnishings and woven details inspired by the local Urak Lawoi sea community.

Restaurants and Dining

There are two restaurants on site. Mala Kitchen serves Thai specialities and international dishes. Edgewater Bar and Grill is the open-air beachfront option, good for fresh seafood, grilled dishes and tropical cocktails. The resort also offers beachfront barbecue evenings. All-inclusive packages are available.

Facilities

The resort has a full spa with Thai massage, body treatments and a steam room. There are two swimming pools, including a kids’ pool. A fitness centre is open around the clock, and an open-air yoga sala sits in a quiet corner of the grounds. The PADI Dive Centre runs guided scuba diving trips and snorkelling excursions. Kayaks and other non-motorised water sports are available on the beach. Cooking classes and themed dinners are part of the activities programme.

How to Get There

Outrigger runs a scheduled speedboat service from Royal Phuket Marina. The ride takes about one hour each way. Both shared and private transfers are available. Guests need to contact the resort at least 48 hours before arrival to arrange the boat.

What to Do Around

From Laem Tong, longtail boats can take you to nearby spots like Bamboo Island and Mosquito Island. The Phi Phi Viewpoint is about 4.5 km south but requires a boat to Tonsai first. The real draw here is the water. The reefs around the northern tip of Phi Phi Don are some of the best in the area for diving and snorkelling.
