A Tranquil Beach in Khao Lak
Bang Sak Beach stretches 5.5 kilometres along the northern end of Khao Lak’s coastline, about 14.5 km from Bang Niang centre. This is where local Thai families gather for weekend picnics under the shade of tall casuarina trees.
The central section has no hotels, making it a favourite spot for fishermen and locals. A quiet road behind the beach leads to small Thai restaurants serving freshly grilled seafood. The southern end has a few upscale resorts, while the northern stretch offers beach bars and massage spots.
Swimming is best from November to April when the sea is flat and clear. During monsoon season, expect stronger currents and waves. The beach has soft golden sand with few rocks, making it good for long walks. Sunbeds aren’t provided here—locals bring hammocks and picnic mats instead.
