About Wat Chalong

This Wat Chalong Video takes you to Phuket’s most important and largest temple. Located in Chalong, this beautifully decorated temple has been a spiritual centre for locals for over a century. It is dedicated to two highly respected monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who played key roles in helping the community during times of conflict.

The temple complex features several buildings with intricate golden details, colourful murals, and a peaceful atmosphere. The main pagoda, or *chedi*, is said to contain a fragment of Buddha’s bone and offers great views from the upper level. Visitors can also see local worshippers lighting incense and making offerings as part of their daily prayers.

Wat Chalong is a great place to learn about Thai culture and Buddhism while exploring Phuket’s history. Watch the video to see why this temple remains one of the island’s most visited landmarks. Read more
